Rob and I were at Windsor this weekend. Well, most of our time was spent at Amherstburg where friends of ours live, but we did head to the casino for one of their $110 tournaments.

Yeah, the tournament wasn't long for any of us. The structure is just so crappy. Everyone starts with 2000 chips and first level is 25/50, but the blinds double every 20 minutes. Essentially a super turbo.

The play was bad as expected. A lot of limpy limpy. But none of us had luck on our side. My plan, knowing the structure wasn't the greatest, was to fold pretty much everything except my strong hands and try and double up early. I had JJ in the big blind and got it all in, but ran into AK that caught the K on the river. That crippled me. The was another orbit and what do you know, JJ in the big blind again. I only had 4xBB raise at that time but I knew a stop and go wasn't going to work either, so put it in and get two callers. This time JJ is no good against KQ with the K on the turn.

So I think we were at the casino for at most an hour. All of us busted not only before the money but before final table. The rest of our time was spent, as I mentioned at Amherstburg. We played in their home game there and stayed the night to get to the casino early to register for the tournament.

We definitely hope to do this again. Maybe next time we will make some money at Windsor.

Razz-amatazz

I love razz (well at least until variance kicks in and I start to lose). It's amusing to watch donks, call a completed bet with a J showing. Or two guys raise and reraise, one with a pair and a high card showing, and another with nothing much better.

So far, I play tight, unless I have to bring in, I'm not in the pot unless all 3 cards are 8 or lower. Basically, I tend to have a made hand by 5th or 6th so I don't have to worry about drawing. I so love watching everyone else continue to chase though.

I've actually taken to smack talking a bit. Basically, I will tell my opponent what I have as I bet into them (I always have a strong hand when I do this). For whatever reason, they never believe me and call me down. Well, that or they like to chase.

One fun hand, I had 234 and I ended up HU against a guy showing a 6. I had completed and he had raised. Before 4th, I say in the chat, "Six high is no good here." My hand stays low on the next card and he says, "I have pocket Aces." I respond with "That's awesome." I have nothing but rag cards showing and he thinks AA in the hole is good. He obviously thought he joined Stud Hi or H/L. He probably thought I was a super-donk until the chips shipped my way.

I'm a Shark, baby!

Shark!

I've Been Rolled

So, it's official, I've been rolled. Yesterday, I offered several stakes for $1.20 SNGs. So real small stuff. It's a way for me to get more notice on the site, plus help out other new players. It's also not too big of a risk as really who would go out of there way to steal $1.20.

Yeah, well someone did. One brand new guy applied, I staked and transferred the funds and he still hasn't played. I guess he did this to a couple other people as well. But they were only staking for the same or smaller levels as I was.

So the grand total of money he stole from players on the site? A whole $3.10! How sad is that?
