Take 2

It's Take 2 time at Full Tilt. I may have to take advantage of this, especially since my bankroll over there is almost bust.

Quick Rundown

So, as I mentioned in my previous post, I haven't been playing too much poker. I still hit the tables a little bit and just want to give a quick rundown on how I'm doing.

I have to give pwnage credit for their success at teaching. I recently came in 9th in a $8.80 MTT on Poker Stars. I believe a lot of that success was from all the videos I have watched.

Also, Pwnage has weekly member tournaments, where the top 3 win an hour session with a pro. I've won twice now. Again, from watching videos. Plus, the one session with Herschelw has really opened up my game. I have my second session coming up next week and hope to refine what I previously learned.

Anyway, that's about it for me. Once I get back in the mood for playing, here's hoping for several more final tables!

Poker on the Back Burner

I'm still playing poker, but I've recently found a new obsession. Someone referred to me to an online site where you can play Risk with other people. It's actually a great site and you have more than just the original map to chose from. There's about 100 different maps in all. Plus, as you beat other players you gain points and you move up the ranks, so another reason to play a lot. If you like risk, I suggest you check the site out. It's called Conquer Club.

My Opinion

Ok, I've been a member of Poker Pwnage for about a month now, so it's time for a review.

It's GREAT! I'm loving it and I've noticed and plugged a few leaks already. My preferred pro to watch is Chardrian. His style of play closely resembles mine, so when I need to make changes, his strategies are the easiest for me to follow. USCPhildo is another good pro to watch if you are a tight nit like me. He limps a little more than I do, but his reasons why make sense and it will be something I dabble with. The one pro I watched and would probably not watch again though is FU15. If you are into a loose aggressive style, watch his videos, they will help manage that style to success. But because he is so different in his play than mine, I would have trouble trying to copy him.

All the pros explain their thought processes very well. As each hand progresses, they explain how and why they took that action. They even comment on other players style of play and what notes to take. How to play against them.

My results in MTTs are on the rise. I've only a small sample size, but in the few tournaments I've played since joining, I've struggled less to maintain my stack. It has also helped me to up my aggression at key stages leading to better blind stealing and easier chipping up.

The site also has a forum. I haven't posted there much but it's not necessary. It is a great place to read though. Most of the posts are strat posts, to further increase your skill at the game.

I would highly recommend trying it out. The cost of joining will easily be recouped within the first couple of tournaments you play.

Comment Spam

Every once in a while, I've been getting comment spam. It's not a lot, I think there's 3 or 4 in total and it's actually written legibly. An added plus is it's actually related to poker.

I haven't deleted any of them yet and I'm not sure if I'm going to. Like I said, it's poker related, so I guess it's not too bad. Basically, this is just a head's up to be careful before clicking any links in a comment. It should be common sense, but just in case.

Staking is Good

I just finished up a $130 stake at PTP yesterday. It was 20 buyins for the $6.50 9 mans and to run as many as I could in 2 weeks. I ended up playing 30 and ended the stake with just over a $100 profit. Which is very nice. It's getting my rep up at the site and I plan on running a similar BAP in a couple weeks.

For now, I'm taking some time off from the tables and watching all the PokerPwnage videos I can. I've already learned tons and I am sure my MTT skills have improved from them. Once I get back to the MTT tables, I'm hoping to test out what I've seen.

That's all I really wanted to post. Just a little rambling for the two or three readers I have.
