Nothing Interesting

I'm such a bad poster when I have no goals.

I've been donking it up at $0.05/$0.10 NL. I can beat this level comfortably. I have the roll for $25 NL, but I struggle to stay positive there. I think a lot of it is tilting when variance hits me in the ass.

I played a $2.20 6 max on Tilt yesterday and came in 12th. Blah, my AK ran into AJ and 88 or something like that. I was ITM though, but only about $5, sigh.

So that's my boring time at the poker tables. I have no exciting news about those at PTP that I've backed. Only the one stake has ended so far. It was a one night BAP and well, there were no cashes, so no money for me. I've got 4 more stakes on the go and two are running well so far. Hopefully, I haven't jinxed them by saying that. I created a tracker for my investments. I want to make sure that this does stay profitably for me. So as soon as it isn't, it's time to analyze what I'm doing and make necessary changes.

Woot!

I forgot to screenshot it, but last night the TP forum decided to donk it up together at a few micro MTTs on Full Tilt. I only had 6 bux left in my account and there were 3 games we were going to crash. A $5.50 KO, a $2.25 6 max and a $3.30 MTT. Being adventurous and not practicing proper bankroll management on my Tilt account, I decided to go for broke and use up my bankroll in the most expensive one, the KO. After a few hours and 4 knockouts later, I finished 4th for a cool $200 payout. Ooooh, baby!

I think I have money on Full Tilt now. ;)

Staking

So I've been frequenting the PTP forum a lot lately. It's basically a forum to buy and sell pieces of poker players. I don't plan on setting up a stake for myself (at least not yet), but I think I will start using some of my bankroll to stake others. If they make a profit, it's easy money for me.

It's a very busy site and unfortunately, there is always the risk of getting rolled (backing someone who runs off with your money instead of playing). I'm hoping this won't happen too often, but I'm prepared for it. I do plan on being proactive towards preventing it. There are a few people who are on PTP that came from TalkingPoker, so those will the ones I back first. Also, if they back anyone and I'm interested, I might put my money on them as well.

I'm hoping by doing this, I will start make a steady profit. I set a portion aside for more backing, a portion for my own roll and a portion to cash out. I'm going to cross my fingers and hope this works out.

BBQ Night

It was our annual BBQ/Poker Night today. Turnout was great. Of course offering up all you can eat hot dogs, hamburgers and salad helps.

This months poker game was a $2 rebuy. I suspect this helped for high turnout as well. New game lower buy-in and such. We had a record this month, a total of 19 people for the poker game. There were more people than that there for the BBQ, friends and family not playing, but we're not concerned with them. This is about poker.

I didn't try to play the rebuy too reckless, but any pocket pair, I was shoving my stack in. I did go in a few times, 55, QQ, JJ, AK. I was getting some nice hands. Very helpful in a rebuy (as long as you don't get sucked out on). I remained lucky and was able to get past the rebuy period with the initial 2 buyins and the add-on only. Plus, my stack was decent.

The fun part, even after the rebuy period there were some crazy plays. A lot of big raises and overbetting the pot. Avlot of us were deep stacked too, so not much of a need to risk it all just yet. The blinds started at 50/100 and the chip leader at our table had just over 20k in chips, I had about 9k.

The only really exciting hand I had was at the final table (10 players total). I was either the button or CO and there were a lot of limpers in front of me, so I limp in with QJo. I flop the nuts of 89T but there were two diamonds out. There is a small bet and almost everyone calls till it gets to me. I was semi worried about the flush draws, especially since there were two very loose players in the pot, so I raise the bet about 5 times. I was pretty sure I would get at least one caller. I got two (the two losse players I mentioned). Fortunately, there is no diamond on the turn. I'm not sure if on the turn first to act bet out, but the second caller went all-in. I was like, okay, I'm all in too. First to act also calls. Wow, this is a huge pot. Both have me covered. They both have two pair (forget exactly what though) and neither improve. I triple my stack, putting me in 1st with a huge lead!

I essentially keep my lead for the rest of the game and as is alway nice, I take the whole thing down. It was a big payout this month. I'm sure there were a few people who put much more than $10 (our normal buyin) into the game. So a big first place prize, plus tons of league points for me. I continue to hold my first place in the league as well, and if Rob did the math correctly, he said I was about 100 points ahead of second. This is a nice lead, as average points for first is typically about 80 points.

Putting Monopoly Away

I'm going to put Monopoly on hold indefinitely for a while. I might come back to it later, or even start over, since I'm basically at my starting point.

Ending Bankroll: $99.73

Gotta luv essentially playing break even poker.

I did learn a few things from playing though. Although very small sample size, I found out I can play HU. Part of the reason for my not liking HU, I'm always afraid of being completely dominated in a match by my opponent. But, of the games I did play, I held my own.

My HU stats:

What I plan on doing now is working on my non-hold'em skills. Currently, I'm a fish at all other games, but I've been searching online for strategies for the other games, plus, I qualified for a few of the Full Tilt WSOP fantasy freerolls that were non-hold'em and I really enjoyed them. I might try my luck at some Omaha H/L, Stud H/L and some razz. I'm pretty sure I can quickly become one of the better donkeys. Plus when I get back to Monopoly and I start running bad in HE, I can switch up to a different game.

Taking a Break

I've not played in a few days. I've been busy and well since I was running bad, break time is a good idea. I will update when I get back at this.

Probaby Going to Bust

If my luck doesn't turn around soon, at this rate, I'm going to go bust soon. I've been posting hands at the TalkingPoker.com forum and from the responses, I am playing correctly. I guess it is possible to play right and still have a negative ROI.

Here's the games I've played so far today.

Games Played - ITM - Net:
1 $5.25 HU - 1 - $4.75
2 $5.25 HU 4 plr - 0 - $-10.50
2 $1.20 18 man - 0 - $-2.40
1 $1.75 18 man - 0 - $-1.75

Total Bankroll: $90.73

If my hands would just hold up, I would be killing these games. I'm pretty sure I'm playing well over all, it's just my opponents play is utterly ridiculous, but I'm not lucky enough to make it to the money. I'm tired of the micro stakes. I want to move up, but right now my bankroll is at $113.38.
